  5. I just discovered something this week, which seems a bit evident in
  6. retrospect. Nevertheless, it cost me 5 days of rendering. I thought I'd
  7. post about it to avoid such unpleasant surprises to other users.

  9. If you activate motion blur by selecting, say, 2 extra frames, you'll
  10. get 3 renders for every frame, blended together. If, however, you turn
  11. on field rendering, Imagine will still do 3 renders per frame; however,
  12. those renders will be split between the two fields. In this case, one
  13. field will get a single render, the other will get the remaining two.
  14. Your animation will look as if the first field didn't have any motion
  15. blur applied to it.

  17. The solution is simple: if you activate field rendering and you have
  18. motion blur turned on, make sure to dial up twice the amount of extra
  19. frames you want for each field.
  20.
