Subject: [IML] DOS, AMIGA, IFW: field rendering and motion blur
I just discovered something this week, which seems a bit evident in
retrospect. Nevertheless, it cost me 5 days of rendering. I thought I'd
post about it to avoid such unpleasant surprises to other users.
If you activate motion blur by selecting, say, 2 extra frames, you'll
get 3 renders for every frame, blended together. If, however, you turn
on field rendering, Imagine will still do 3 renders per frame; however,
those renders will be split between the two fields. In this case, one
field will get a single render, the other will get the remaining two.
Your animation will look as if the first field didn't have any motion
blur applied to it.
The solution is simple: if you activate field rendering and you have
motion blur turned on, make sure to dial up twice the amount of extra
frames you want for each field.
